Audio needed for Youth Radio, Los Angeles (youthradio.org) web feature on

“Global Youth Perspectives on the U.S. Presidential Election.”

This project aims to provide a forum for the young people of the world to weigh in on an electoral and political process in which they cannot participate, but whose effects often have a disproportionately negative impact on the lives of people around the globe. We unfortunately cannot financially compensate participants, but we can credit them on our blog: http://globalyouthvote.wordpress.com.

What we need: Broadcast-quality audio responses for the questions below from youth not living in the U.S. who are of voting or near-voting age (15-30).

Interview Questions:

  1. Please state your name, age, and where you’re from.
  2. Are you keeping track of U.S. presidential election? If so, what are your general impressions about it so far?
  3. Do you think the results of the election this November matter on the world stage? Why or why not?
  4. Do you think this election is different from others you’ve observed or read about, or is it “business as usual”? What are your impressions of the electoral process in the U.S.? Does it seem democratic? Why or why not?
  5. The youth vote is proving to be an important factor in election results, particularly in the Democratic primary elections. What concerns do you think young people represent in the politics? Do you think the youth have any real power to effect change? Give examples from your community.
  6. What are the most pressing global issues that the next U.S. President could help resolve? In light of such issues, which candidate would be best for the world? Why do you think so?
  7. Does it matter to you and your community who the next U.S. president is? Why or why not?
